Choosing Your Materials:

• Yarn: For a vibrant, eye-catching look, opting for colorful yarn can truly make your cable stitch projects stand out. Cotton yarn is particularly great for this stitch as it provides a clean, defined look that enhances the cable’s texture. For my projects, I prefer using Scheepjes Cahlista, which offers a wide range of colors to choose from.

• Crochet Hook: A 5 mm (H) hook is ideal for working with medium weight cotton like Scheepjes Cahlista. This hook size is large enough to handle comfortably yet small enough to provide tight, defined stitches that are essential for a pronounced cable texture.

Step 1: make as many ch as yu need for your project, number of ch should be multiple of 4+2

Rows 1-4, all stitches dc

Step 2: change color

Row 5: 2 ch (do not count as st) *2 dc, 2 front post double crochet in 2 rows below, skip 2, repeat from * till the end

Row 6: 1 ch, slip stitch in each st till the end 

Step 3: change color

Rows 7 - 10 all stitched dc

Repeat Steps 2-3 till desired length
