How To Crochet Knit Look Mittens
Greetings, fellow crochet enthusiasts!
As winter approaches, there's nothing cozier than a pair of mittens to keep your hands warm. In this crochet blog post, we'll embark on a creative journey to crochet mittens that capture the timeless charm of knitted mittens but with the unique touch of crochet.
Materials You'll Need:
Before we dive into the stitches and pattern, let's gather the materials needed for crocheting your knit-look mittens:
-
Yarn: Choose a medium-weight or worsted yarn in your favorite 2 colors. This type of yarn is perfect for creating mittens that are both warm and stylish.
-
Crochet Hook: Select an appropriate hook size based on the yarn you've chosen. A 5mm hook often works well for medium-weight yarn.
-
Scissors: A sharp pair of scissors is essential for cutting yarn neatly.
-
Yarn Needle: You'll use a yarn needle for weaving in ends and sewing up your mittens.
Now that you've gathered your materials, let's dive into crocheting your knit-look mittens.
Step 1: Foundation ch = mittens lenght without ribbing, in my works it is 19 cm / 7,5 inch

Fold togerher and sew edges leaving a space for your thumb, I use slip stitch for this.
Step 6:
Change color
Rnd 1:
3 ch, dc stitches around the bottom, finish with sl st
Rnd 2:
3 ch, *1 front post dc, 1 back post dc, repeat from * till the end of the rnd, finish with sl st, cut the yarn.
Step 7:
Repeat the same from the other side, for 4 or more rows depends on the ribbing length you want
Creating crochet mittens with the look of knitting is a rewarding and stylish project for the winter season.
These mittens are not only warm and functional but also a testament to your crochet skills. With a little practice and patience, you can craft handmade warmth that rivals the classic knit mittens.
